Community PowerShare - a Local Community Battery Project

Community PowerShare is a not-for-profit community-based project that aims to collect, store and share excess electricity generated by rooftop solar panels in postcode 2251.

The plan is to install a grant-funded, community-owned battery. The ultimate aim is to reduce community energy costs and facilitate the transition to a greener energy economy.

It is hoped the battery can be located on land belonging to Central Coast Council as part of a partnering arrangement

This will be a complex technical and regulatory project and there are many steps to go through before launch. However, progress is being made and residents of Avoca Beach, and the other suburbs in postcode 2251, will be kept up-to-date with progress.

To find out more or express interest in joining the scheme, visit the Community Powershare website.
