Adam (Chook) Portelli grew up in Avoca Beach and has always wanted to make a positive contribution where it's most needed. To this end, Adam has come up with an innovative idea that’s geared towards the elderly and disabled, although anyone can have ago.

 Smiles on Your Dial Boating Adventures provides an opportunity for older adults, people with disabilities, or those with mobility challenges, along with their families, to enjoy Brisbane Water in a specially adapted boat. Adam is keen to provide comfort on the water while enabling everyone, regardless of their level of mobility, the chance to experience our natural environment and abundant wildlife close up.

Adam says, "I'm very passionate about giving everyone the feeling of freedom on the water, in amongst the pelicans, swans, eagles and many other birds and animals using the mangroves and waterways. There’s just so much to explore."

Adam’s boat is fully insured and licensed, and is built to specification with ramps and handrails for easy access. The boat can take four passengers per trip, and each trip can be two, four or six hours long. Programs will vary according to individual need and refreshments, ranging from a cup of tea to a fish and chips lunch, can be included.
